StudyLab (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of students, teachers, and schools that use our platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Student Information
- Account Information: Name, username, and class enrollment (provided by teachers)
- Practice Data: Answers, response times, accuracy, and progress metrics
- Session Data: Login times and duration of use
We do NOT collect from students:
- Email addresses (not required for student accounts)
- Home addresses
- Phone numbers
- Social media profiles
- Photos or biometric data
1.2 Teacher and Administrator Information
- Name and email address
- School affiliation
- Account activity and settings
1.3 Technical Information
- Device type and browser information
- IP address (for security purposes)
- Usage patterns and feature interactions
2. How We Use Information
2.1 Educational Purposes
- Providing personalized learning experiences
- Tracking student progress and generating reports

5. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: Data retained while account is active
- Inactive Accounts: Data deleted after 2 years of inactivity
- Upon Request: Schools may request data deletion at any time
6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & PIPEDA)
StudyLab is designed for use by schools and complies with:
- COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act)
- PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act)
Schools are responsible for obtaining necessary parental consent. We:
- Collect only information necessary for educational purposes
- Do not require personal email for student accounts
- Do not engage in behavioral advertising to students
- Provide schools with access to student data
7. Your Rights
7.1 Schools and Parents Have the Right To:
- Access student data we hold
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of student data
- Export student data in a portable format

8. Canadian Data Storage
All data is stored on servers located in Canada, subject to Canadian privacy laws.
