1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using StudyLab (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of Service
StudyLab is an adaptive learning platform designed for educational use in K-12 schools. The Service provides interactive learning modules, progress tracking, and analytics tools for students, teachers, and school administrators.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Types
- Student Accounts: Created by teachers or school administrators for students
- Teacher Accounts: Created by school administrators for educators
- Administrator Accounts: Created for school and district management
3.2 Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Share account credentials with unauthorized users
- Use the Service to collect information about other users without consent
5. Educational Institution Terms
Schools and districts using StudyLab agree to:
- Obtain necessary parental consent for student data collection as required by law
- Use the Service only for legitimate educational purposes
- Ensure staff are trained on appropriate use of the platform
- Notify StudyLab of any security breaches or unauthorized access
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Our Content
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by StudyLab and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
6.2 User Content
Teachers retain ownership of any custom content they create within the Service. By uploading content, you grant StudyLab a license to use, store, and display that content as necessary to provide the Service.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
8. Payment Terms
8.1 Subscription Fees
Paid plans are billed according to the pricing agreed upon at the time of purchase. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
8.2 Changes to Pricing
We may change our fees upon 30 days’ notice. Continued use of the Service after the price change constitutes acceptance of the new fees.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyLab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
